This post is really just a side note of things that I've been wondering lately. Nothing to extensive.
Everyone seems to have this notion of what love is or what it means to be in love, but does anyone stop to think about whether or not it's worth everything that comes with it? Should love be all about sacrifice? Should you have to sacrifice everything that you feel because the other person doesnt agree or understand? Should you have to sacrifice who you are because your partner doesn't like some of the things you do? Should you have to cast your feelings about something aside because your partner can't or won't see things from your point of view? Should love be all about changing who you are in order to better fit the mold that another person has in his/her mind?
Is losing certain parts of yourself worth it in order to keep the person that you love? Or should they love you for who you are, flaws and all?
My answer:
Sometimes. But it also means respect, compromise, putting someone elses needs before your own, mutual adoration, working together as a team. It should NEVER be one side sacrificing all the time. It is a give and take relationship (or at least should be).
